NSD Representative Re-elected to ANNA Service Bureau Technical Committee

On 22-23 May 2014, a general meeting of the members of the international Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA) took place in Reykjavik, Iceland. The participants of the meeting elected the members of the ANNA Service Bureau (ASB) Technical Committee. Elena Ulyanova, Advisor to the Chairman of the Executive Board, NSD, was elected the member of the Committee for the third time.

Since 2008 NSD’s representative has been elected to the Committee and worked jointly with other Committee members on developing and improving the international ISIN and CFI database. In 2012, Elena Ulyanova was elected the Committee’s Vice President; in 2013 she headed the Committee as a Chairwoman.

The ASB Technical Committee is the second most important administrative body of ANNA after the Board of Directors. It manages the ANNA Service Bureau (ASB) responsible for ANNA’s international ISIN and CFI database development and maintenance. The Committee includes representatives of the ANNA members and representatives of two operators (Standard & Poor´s – CUSIP Global Services, USA; SIX Financial Information Ltd., Switzerland) authorized by ANNA to maintain and support the international ISIN and CFI database. Each member of the Committee is elected for a three-year term.

National Numbering Agency’s functions in Russia

In November 2010, NSD joined ANNA as a universal successor of NDC that had been ANNA’s member since 1999. NSD is Russia’s national numbering agency and substitute numbering agency in the CIS countries. In addition to this, NSD takes part in ANNA’s projects related to developing and introducing international standards used in the financial markets, as well as in the general meetings of ANNA voting on items of the agendas and resolutions adopted by the meetings.

Acting as national numbering agency, NSD assigns ISINs and CFIs to Russian issuers’ securities and other financial instruments issued or registered in Russia in accordance with ISO 6166 and ISO 10962. NSD provides an open access to the database of international codes assigned by NSD, sends information about the assigned codes to the ANNA international database, and updates information on ISIN and CFI.

As of 1 July 2014, the total number of ISINs and CFIs assigned by NSD exceeded 7,000 codes.
